HOW DID I EARN MY FIRST 100$ USING GOOGLE ADSENSE
After I got my adsense account, it took almost a year for me to get my first 100$. But the feeling I got when I received that cheque was awesome. It is possible for everyone to achieve that kind of exhilaration if you are determined and super focused. So, the simple three important rules to start making money using adsense.
RULE 1: CHOOSE YOUR NICHE AREA
Choose your niche area. You would have heard this many times and in many blogs. But there is no substitute for good content. When it comes to blogging, content is the king. Take time to choose the topic on which you will be writing. It has always been my dream to write a blog and make it successful.
My inspiration for writing a blog was from betterexplained.com. I loved that website. How the author takes up a difficult topic in maths and makes it easy for the people to understand.
I loved the idea and I wanted my blog to do something similar. So, I started writing topics on one of the toughest entrance exams to crack in India, NET exam. Although its difficulty level cannot be compared with JEE or Chartered accountancy exam, still it is one of the tough examinations to crack with people writing it many,many times. Since it is the eligbility for a lecturership, it becomes all the more important to pass it. I started solving the old question papers.
RULE 2 : USP OF YOUR BLOG
Before writing my blog, what I researched and found was, there were quite a few sites, giving the questions and answers for NET computer science paper, but no one gave a explanation as to why a answer was correct. Basically there was no explanation for the answer at all. So I started taking questions from the old question paper and solved it and explained it elaborately. This way, even I learnt the topics well and I had the satisfaction of sharing what I know with others. Whatever is your area of interest, choose it and write about it. But the topic should be something you should be well versed and passionate about. Unless, otherwise you employ some people who will do the content generation for you. So , the first rule, choose your area of interest and decide how your blog is going to be different from others, after careful thought and analysis.
RULE 3 : BE REGULAR IN WRITING
When I was writing the blog, I was not working and so I could generate new content every day. I could see my readership soaring. So, decide for yourself, when you would generate new content for your blog and keep up that schedule. More content generates more visitors. But the content needs to be solid and useful for the target audience. Lot of discipline and motivation is required for generating content for your blog.
RULE 4 : DO NOT GIVE UP
Once I started writing the blog, I applied for a adsense account and it got rejected. Again I applied after few months, again it got rejected. After few more months, again I applied, and still it was getting rejected. Then I did not apply for the account for few months.
All I was trying to do was generate some steady content, and increase the readership. And then when I applied, I got 4th time lucky and my application got accepted. I am not saying adsense is the only way to make money from your blog.
RULE 5 : BLOG FOR THE RIGHT REASON
Most of the bloggers start blogging, looking to earn money. It is found that there are 164 million blogs in the internet now. It is not about starting to blog, it is about consistency and right marketing tactics. Many of the bloggers give up their writing in the first 3 months only. So first ask yourself, why do you need to have a blog. What value addition you will be bringing in your reader’s life. How will you justify, that their time spent on your blog was productive to them. If blogging is done for the right reason you will see success. No doubt about it.
